The 2025 NKSL regular season kicks off next week with a dive meet AWAY at Florence at 6 pm on Tuesday and a swim meet at HOME against Florence at 6pm on Thursday! Here are details and next steps that must be taken by all Penguins by the established deadlines, regardless of whether your athlete(s) will be at the meet. In addition, if your athlete(s) is diving or swimming at the meets next week, we need you to sign-up to help work the meets if you have no already done so.

• Dive Meet: Penguins diving warm ups are at 5:00 pm on Tuesday at Florence. Please arrive at Florence and be ready to go on deck at 4:45 pm. The dive meet starts at 6 pm and should end around 8 pm.
• Swim Meet: Penguins swim warm-ups are at 5:00 pm on Thursday at the Newport Vet’s Pool. Please remember to only park in designated spaces in the lot adjacent to the pool or in the overflow lot off of Grandview—there will be signs. Please arrive at the Vet’s Pool and be ready to go on deck at 4:45 pm. The dive meet starts at 6 pm and should end around 9:30 pm or so.
• Meet Sign-up or Opt Out- All Penguins MUST opt in or out of all meets, starting with next week’s meets against Florence. If a diver or swimmer does not opt in or out by the deadline, the athlete will not be able to participate. To opt in or out, go to the Swimtopia app or the website, click on the Meets and Events tab, click on the drop down for Sign Up Calendar, scroll to the meet date. Click on the green Meet Entry icon, answer the questions about your athlete(s) and hit save—then you are opted in or out.
• For Tuesday’s dive meet and for Thursday’s swim meet, the Meet Entry and opt out is due at 8 am on Monday, June 9th. If an athlete is not declared (opted in or out by the deadline) the athlete will not be entered in the meet. It is extremely helpful to the coaches to opt out of meets, in addition to the necessity of opting in. NOTE- you can select preferred events if you indicate you are competing at a meet, but the coaches will make all final entry determinations.
• What happens if I don’t meet the deadline for opting into a meet? Unless an athlete is opted in by the June 9th 8 am deadline, the athlete will not be permitted to compete. We set these deadlines so the coaches can easily complete the entries and get them to the league by the league’s entry deadline.
• We continue to have volunteer jobs open for both the away dive meet and the home swim meet next week. If you have not already done so and your athlete is competing, please sign up for open job. There is a green icon for Jobs by the Meet Entry sign-up.
